Who benefits?
If we want our firefighters available to deploy onto a local disaster quickly, it’s imperative that more of them live within or at least closer to our community.
I love Mill Valley, but I was prepared to be priced out due to my income…If it wasn’t for this group, I would not be able to live and immerse myself in the town I work in, and I’ll always be grateful that I do have that opportunity.
Addressing imbalance of our employees having to live outside the valley will vastly improve the quality of life for staff and improve education in Mill Valley.
The vast majority of our employees at Mill Valley market have worked here for many years-decades but are not able to live here. That is not a healthy dynamic for our business community. To have workers living here would be a boon for the vitality of Mill Valley.

Our goal is to assist people who work in Mill Valley but who cannot afford to live here. This includes teachers, city employees, and other workers. Our focus is on helping individuals and families, one-on-one, so that they can start and sustain their employment in Mill Valley, to the benefit of all who live here.

Helping our senior citizens
The widening disparity between Social Security benefits and the cost of living is increasingly leading older individuals to face housing instability, displacement, and homelessness. Rental support programs help older community members remain in their homes by offering extra income from renters and alleviating social isolation.
